Discipline… Behavior expectations, class rules, and consequences are enforced throughout the school. Be assured that behavior expectations are age appropriate. Students are counseled as to appropriate ways to behave and rewarded for good behavior. They are encouraged to “make a fresh start” each day. Behavior charts will be sent home nightly.
The classroom rules are:
Follow Directions Quickly
Raise Your Hand for Permission to Speak
Raise Your Hand for Permission to Leave Your Seat
Make Smart Choices
Keep Your Dear Teacher Happy
Consequences… We use the “How am I doing today?” chart. Each student starts out on the same color every day (colors depend on teachers).
1st rule broken: Move clothespin down – Verbal warning 2nd rule broken: Move clothespin down – Consequence – taking a break in a quiet area 3rd rule broken: Office referral, parent contact If the student makes good or extra good choices, their clothespin can be moved up!
Note: Any disruptions that take away from the learning process in the classroom will not be tolerated!
